The issue of detention of Ukrainians in the occupied Crimea will not be discussed during the trilateral talks in Minsk.
This was stated by Representative of Ukraine in the Humanitarian Subgroup Irina Gerashchenko.
“The Minsk accords concern the issue of Donbass only, and, unfortunately, the case of Crimea is not included in the process and is not discussed in Minsk. We express our deep concern about the significant increase in the number of hostages in Crimea, in the occupied territory both within the framework of the Humanitarian Subgroup and the Tripartite Contact Group,” she said.
According to Gerashchenko, the representatives of Ukraine in the Contact Group are not endowed with powers to raise the “Crimean issue” in Minsk.
“The Ukrainians, detained in Crimea, are the most deprived of rights, because there are no Ukrainian consuls and international missions are not allowed to visit them; we know nothing about them and their confinement conditions. The FSB’s videos in the network clearly prove that the detainees were tortured and psyched out,” said Gerashchenko.
