A lawsuit to the European Court of human rights against Russia due to the Crimean Tatar people Mejlis clampdown has already been drafted and will be filed in the next two weeks.
This was stated by the First Deputy Minister of Justice of Ukraine Natalia Sevostyanova.
“The lawsuit on the Mejlis clampdown is ready to be filed during one or two weeks,” she said.
According to Sevostyanova, it is still going to support evidence reasoning. “The complaint is very specific and egregious. In fact it is ready to be filed any day, but we are still waiting for certain evidence for reinforcement. So it will take more one or two weeks,” told Sevostyanova.
As a reminder, the “Supreme Court of Crimea” recognized the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people an extremist organization and clamped it down in Russia on April 26.
