Ukraine is indignant at the PACE’s lack of reaction on the French deputies’ visit to Crimea

The Ukrainian delegation in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) expressed indignation at the PACE’s lack of reaction on the illegal visit of the French deputies to the annexed Crimea.

The statement of the permanent delegation of Ukraine in PACE states that the PACE’s inability to respond to the violations of international law by its delegates brings discredit to the Assembly.

“On behalf of the Ukrainian delegation I state that we are indignant at the defiant disregard of the Ukrainian and the international legislation than Mariani (member of the National Assembly of France Thierry Mariani – ed.) manifests himself recidivist. We are not going to respect and tolerate the right of politicians to the conspicuous ignorance and disrespect of the States Member of the Council of Europe”, reads the statement of the Head of Ukrainian delegation to the PACE President Pedro Agramunt.

As reported a three-day visit of 11 parliamentarians from France to Crimea had taken place on July 29-31. The delegation was headed by a Deputy of the National Assembly of France Thierry Mariani.
