The Ukrainian Prosecutor’s Office is preparing materials for Interpol to issue an international arrest warrant for the occupation “head” of Crimea Sergey Aksenov. This was announced by Petro Kovalenko, Deputy Prosecutor of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea in Ukraine.
“We have some economic proceedings against Aksenov. He transferred the Ukrainian children’s camp “Artek” ownership of Ukraine to Russia, causing considerable material damage. This is purely a commercial crime, in popular words it is stealing. Earlier we issued an international arrest warrant for him but we were denied due to some procedural matters. Now the pre-trial investigation authority is addressing comments and I hope this issue will be resolved positively in the future,” said Kovalenko.
In April this year the Pechersky Court in Kyiv granted permission to detain and arrest Aksenov for transferring the “Artek” ownership of Ukraine to Russian.
