The European Union member states are recommended not to recognize passports of Russia, issued in Crimea

The European Commission recommends to the member states of the European Union not to recognize passport, issued in Crimea after the peninsula annexation by the Russian Federation.

This was reported by the Deputy Minister of Justice of Ukraine Sergey Petukhov during the parliamentary hearings “The Strategy for the Reintegration of the temporarily occupied territory of Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city Sevastopol into Ukraine”.

According to the European Commission, the only legitimate documents, identifying the citizens of Ukraine, are the Ukrainian documents.
