The detained lawyer set free in Crimea

Journalist Anton Naumlyuk reports that previously arrested lawyer Emile Kurbedinov was released from the remand prison of Simferopol (Crimea) on 5 February.

“Lawyer Emile Kurbedinov has been now released from the temporary detention facility after 10 days of administrative arrest,” he said.

The lawyer thanked the civil society, journalists and colleagues for the support. He said he would continue his work on defending the Muslims of Crimea in courts.

As previously reported, lawyer Emile Kurbedinov was detained by the FSB in Crimea on January 26, and then arrested for 10 days. Kurbedinov is accused in his alleged posts of photos and video from a rally of Hizb ut-Tahrir in Facebook in 2013.
