Odesa Governor Mikhail Saakashvili says he is ready to succeed Arseniy Yatsenyuk as premier, the reformist official told Brussels-based Politico Nov. 5.
“I would like to take part in massive changes and reforms in Ukraine,” Saakashvili said, answering a question if he is ready to start his premiership campaign.
“I do not want to have anything to do with oligarchs. I want to be a leader of reforms,” he said.
Earlier, Saakashvili lashed out at Yatsenyuk, hinting at his corrupt links with Ukraine tycoons and demanding that prosecutors investigate them. He analyzed Yatsenyuk’s track record as premier calling it insignificant.
Yatsenyuk retaliated by saying Saakashvili should return to Georgia.
