The security service of Ukraine (SBU) has documented several attempted recruitments of Ukrainian militaries by the Russian intelligence on entering Crimea.

This was announced by Chief of Staff of the SBU Oleksandr Tkachuk at a briefing.

“I would like to note without disclosing the absolute figures that the Russian intelligence attempts to recruit most of the Ukrainian Navy officers entering Crimea. Of course they are primarily interested in senior officers,” said Tkachuk.

According to him, the SBU has quickly identified the militaries recruited by the intelligence of the Russian Federation and prevented leakage of information to Russian curators.

Earlier, it was reported that a database, containing about 10 thousand personal files of the Ukrainian militaries, served on the peninsula, was stored in the annexed Crimea and that was the database used by Russian security officials to find new “saboteurs”.
