Russian SberBank prefers Ukraine but not Crimea

Board Chairman of the SberBank of Russia German Gref says that the bank has no plans to leave Ukraine.

“All in all, we continue to work in Ukraine. We cut our assets, but do not see any prospects of a very quick exit from the market, so we continue to work,” said Gref in an interview to the Russia 24 TV channel.

Gref also said that the Bank had plans to close up to a half of its offices in Russia during the next five years.

Earlier, Gref said that Russia’s SberBank had no plans and was not planning to enter the Crimean peninsula until it was within the Russian Federation.
