Russia want to hold an alternative Paralympic games in Crimea

Paralympic games

The Secretary-General of the Russian Paralympic Committee Michail Terentiev states that Russia may hold its own Paralympic Games in Crimea.

According to him, the all-Russian society of disabled people will spend the Sport Festival in Crimea, attended by 400 athletes. It will be held at the same time with the Paralympic Games in Rio (September 7-18).

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Russia would organize the alternative Paralympic Games. Victory awards and prizes will be the same as for the athletes at the Games in Rio.

As a reminder, on August 23 the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) upheld the decision of the International Paralympic Committee dated August 7 to exclude Russian Paralympians from the Games.
