Moscow threatens Kiev with a retaliatory missile strike in the case of Ukraine’s missile firing in the area of Crimea.

It follows from the letter of the RF Ministry of Defense addressed to the military attaché of the Ukrainian Embassy to the Russian Federation.

According to sources in the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, the letter states that Russia will first shoot down Ukrainian missiles and then will hit Ukrainian launchers if Ukraine holds any shooting practice.

Earlier Rosaviatsiya (the Federal Air Transport Agency) said that Ukraine had decided to hold a missile firing in the flight information region of Simferopol on December 1 and 2. Russia considers this area its airspace, despite the fact that it belongs to Ukraine according to international standards.

Simferopol FIR (URFV) includes the Crimean peninsula, a large part of the Black and the Azov Seas, as well as the South of Ukraine. The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) recognizes Ukraine’s control over the area.
