Russia is holding rotation of its troops in Crimea

Annexation of Crimea

Ukrainian border guards watch the rotation of troops of the Russian Federation near the administrative border of the annexed Crimea.

Oleg Slobodian, speaker of the border guard service of Ukraine, told about this during a media conference.

“A rotation of the armed forces of the Russian Federation is taking place at the forefront on the administrative border between the occupied Crimea and the Kherson oblast. A large part of military hardware and personnel of the Russian armed forces had been moved through the Kerchensky ferry from the Krasnodar Krai to the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea over the 27th to 30th of July period,” he said.

In particular, the speaker argues that armoured groups of the 247-th Landing Assault Regiment from Stavropol and the 7-th Assault Divisions from Novorossiysk were deployed.

The newly-arrived troops must replace an armoured group of the 11-th Separate Assault Brigade from Ulan-Ude on the Russian front lines near the border. Those soldiers have been deployed on the territory of the annexed Crimea since March this year.
