Russia is planning to send to Crimea a new set of S-400 Triumph surface-to-air missile systems in August this year.

The Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on defense and security Franz Klincevich stated that Triumph’s deployment in Crimea would significantly enhance the air defense system of the Black Sea. According to him, this is “a modern complex, which will cover not only the mainland but also the marine part of the coast”.

“Immediately after Crimea’s joining, it was decided that the forces of the Black Sea fleet would be reweaponed due to the importance of this region,” he added.
