Putin says that he was provoked by the West to annex Crimea

Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Russia had been provoked by the West to capture the Ukrainian Crimea.

According to him, Russia “never provokes anybody, but the West forced Russia to occupy Crimea.” In addition, the Russian leader added that “the same forces want to increase tension in the Baltic Sea region”.

Putin made this statement in Finland at a joint press conference with the President of this country.
