Part of Ukrainians do not mind to hold the Eurovision Song Contest in Crimea

Almost a tenth of Ukrainians believe that the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 must take place in Crimea.

This is evidenced by the results of a sociological survey conducted by TNS Ukraine.

A third of the population believes that there is no need to hold the Eurovision Song Contest in Ukraine. Half of Ukrainians (49%) are sure, that Ukraine should do this, and others do not have the answer.

Most Ukrainians want the Contest to be held in Kyiv (42%) or Lviv (27%). Approximately every tenth Ukrainian wishes the Eurovision to take place in Odessa, Dnipro or Kharkiv. Nine per cent of respondents noted that the event should be held in Crimea.

As a reminder Ukraine has obtained the right to hold the Contest the next year in one of its cities thank to Crimean Jamala’s victory in the Eurovision 2016 in Stockholm (Sweden).

So far Kiev, Dnepr, Lviv, Odessa, Kharkiv and Kherson have applied for hosting the Eurovision Song Contest 2017.
