New Deputy Prosecutor of Crimea awarded for the Maidan crackdown


Journalist Oleg Sukhov reports that Oleg Valendyuk, the newly appointed First Deputy Prosecutor of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, was awarded by the then Prosecutor General Viktor Pshonka during the Maidan protests crackdown by the ex-President Viktor Yanukovych’s regime.

“Oleg Valendyuk, who has been just illegally appointed by Lutsenko (Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yuriy Lutsenko — ed.) Deputy Prosecutor of Crimea, got a cash prize from Pshonka for fighting the Revolution of Dignity on the eve of the execution of the Heavenly Hundred,” wrote the journalist in Facebook.

Also he published a document where Valendyuk was in the list of the awarded enforcers.

“During the Maidan Valendyuk was Deputy Head of the Department that represented the General Prosecutor Office in court and was responsible for the case against participants of the EuroMaidan. He has no right to hold a public post under the law on lustration,” explained the journalist.

The day before the former Acting Prosecutor of Kiev Oleg Valendyuk was appointed First Deputy Prosecutor of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.
