The Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation will consider the appeal of Ukraine to return four convicted Ukrainian citizens in a month’s time.
The Crimean filmmaker Oleg Sentsov, who was sentenced to 20 years ‘ imprisonment on trumped-up terrorism charges in Russia, is among them.
In exchange, Kiev may return 13 Russians convicted in Ukraine.
“Sooner or later all conversations lead to some results, and if successful the prisoners exchange will happen,” said the Director of the Institute of CIS (The Commonwealth of Independent States), a member of the Public Chamber of Russia Konstantin Zatulin.
According to him, Oleg Sencov’s exchange is quite possible. “I do not rule out the possibility of anyone’s exchange,” he said.
