According to the results of a sociological study, carried out by the Fund for Democratic Initiatives, 69% of Ukrainians believe that Crimea must be a part of Ukraine.
During the study 2016 respondents were interrogated all over Ukraine. Briefly the population of Ukraine is cautiously optimistic for the future of Crimea. 69% of Ukrainians believe that Crimea must be a part of Ukraine; 54% believe it possible to return Crimea. At the same time 32% believe it possible to return Crimea in the long-term only; however, they do not give the clear answer, when the reintegration can be realized. 39% of the interrogated consider the question to return Crimea must be taken up right now, and 31% don’t consider the question of present interest.
“We do not have a right to relax attention on the Crimea question, although there are no direct military operations in Crimea, as in Donbass. But we must understand, that our compatriots live there and they live under the constant pressure of the occupants. At this time one can see strengthening of a totalitarian regime in Russia. Therefore we must not lose sight of Crimea,” the results of interrogation were commented by the Fund for Democratic Initiatives analyst Ruslan Kermach.
