Kremlin propagandist was reminded of his opposition to the annexation of Crimea

One of the main Kremlin propagandists, a TV host and a fervent supporter of the annexation of Crimea Vladimir Solovyov was reminded in internet of his saying Russians in November 2013 that Russia did not need Crimea.

A video of his speech was, in particular, put online by a Ukrainian diplomat Yevhen Perebiynis.

Then Solovyov answered negatively the question whether there is the issue of joining Crimea to Russia.

“God forbid. How do you imagine that? And what do you need Crimea for? Why Crimea but not Finland? Since what point of history can you consider it is possible or not? Khrushchev gave Crimea completely legitimately; he did it on the basis of documents. If you want to join Crimea it means war. Do you want to fight with Ukraine? How many Ukrainians and Russians do you want to kill to capture Crimea, which has long been a Tatar territory?” he said.

In his opinion, the world would not accept such a price for the Russian Crimea. Moreover, Solovyev recalled that Crimea had been part of Russia only after it was conquered.
