Italy and Serbia supply Crimea with seedlings

One of the largest wineries of Crimea Zolotaya Balka (Sevastopol) has plans to plant 600 thousand seedlings at 135 hectares of vineyards until December 10.

“The Zolotaya Balka agroindustrial firm purchased 601 thousand seedlings of vine from Italy and Serbia to renew the vineyard this year,” states the press service of the firm.

150 thousand seedlings of Merlot and Chardonnay are from Serbia. Pinot Blanc, Merlot, Chardonnay, Muscat Ottonel and Muscat Blanc clones were shipped from Italy.

As a reminder, the EU imposed sanctions against the annexed Crimea, which, inter alia, include prohibition to import goods from Crimea and Sevastopol to the EU; to invest in Crimea or Sevastopol; to render tourist services in Crimea and Sevastopol; to export certain goods and technologies to Crimea.
