Four Muslims were detained in Crimea

Today, the Russian security forces searched and detained four people in Bakhchisaray, Crimea.

According to the Prosecutor’s Office of Crimea, the detainees are allegedly members of the Islamic organization Hizb ut-Tahrir, banned in Russia.

“The FSB intelligence and investigative agency has detained members of a terrorist organization and an organizer of its local cell in Bakhchisaray. Searches are made,” stated the Prosecutor of Crimea Natalia Poklonskaya.

A criminal case was launched against three residents of Bakhchisaray for “participation in activities of a terrorist organization”. And another one citizen is convicted of a criminal offence for “terrorist activities organization”.

The Russian security forces occupied Bakhchisaray on the morning of May 12. Searches are made.
