Former Soviet President Mikhail Gorbachev said that he supported the decision of Russian President Vladimir Putin to annex Ukrainian Crimea.

The ex-President said about this in his interview to the Sunday Times.

According to Gorbachev, he would do everything exactly the same way as Putin if he was in a similar situation with Crimea.

“I always advocate free expression of the will of people, and the majority in Crimea wanted to reunite with Russia,” said Gorbachev.

In Internet the ex-President of the USSR was called scoundrel for his statement. “The same scoundrel, like Putin’s entire tops,” users comments on Twitter.
