According to the information of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), the officers have detained the former head of the National Police in the Vinnitsa region Anton Shevtsov.

The Press-Secretary of SBU Elena Gitlyanskaya announced this information.

“The Security Service of Ukraine officers have detained the former head of the police in Vinnitsa region Anton Shevtsov, who tried to escape to Russia,” she posted in Facebook on the evening of March 17.

Also Gitlyanskaya added that the detention had taken place “in line with the open criminal proceedings suggesting possible crimes related to the detriment of the national interests of the State”.

As a reminder, yesterday the activist of “Avtomajdan” Taisa Gajda reported Shevtsov’s intention to leave Ukraine.

As reported, the Head of the National Police Khatia Dekanoidze had satisfied Shevtsov’s request of his dismissal from the post of the Head of the Department of the National Police in Vinnitsa region.

Previously, the activist of Vinnitsa “Avtomajdan” Taisa Gajda released information that Shevtsov was a native of Sevastopol; moreover, his children were still living in the occupied city. Also Gajda published quotations of Shevtsov and his wife’s posts that had a clear pro-Russian orientation in the social networks.
