The Ukrainian citizens Gennady Afanasyev and Yuri Soloshenko were exchanged for the inhabitants of Odessa Yelena Glishchinskaya and Vitalij Didenko, suspected of involvement in an attempt of creation of the so-called “Bessarabian people republic” in the Odessa region.

The Head of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) Adviser Yuri Tandit stated that the exchange of Afanasyev and Soloshenko was conducted in the “two for two” format, and the two persons transferred to Russia were involved with separatists in Odessa.

As a reminder, the two Ukrainians Crimean Gennady Afanasyev and Yuri Soloshenko illegally imprisoned in Russian jails were exchanged on June 14.
