The Crimean Gennady Afanasyev, who was convicted in Russia together with Oleg Sentsov and Olexandr Kolchenko, has been forced with the Russian citizenship.
An activist Evelyna Ghanskaya has posted this information in her Facebook.
“Today it became known that Gena Afanasyev was recognized a citizen of the Russian Federation. This means that he will be refused extradition,” she said.
In her opinion, this means that Sentsov and Kolchenko will serve their punishments in Russia, despite the Russian Ministry of Justice statements on intention to transfer them to Ukraine.
She also criticized the activists who refused to go for rallies to support Afanasyev and encouraged everyone to take part in the next such rally near the Russian consulate in Kiev at 11 a.m. on Monday.
