Crimean Court rehears the Mejlis clampdown case


The Supreme Court of Crimea has started rehearing the case on the Prosecutor of Crimea Natalia Poklonskaya’s lawsuit to recognize the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people an extremist organization and to clamp it down.

“The process will start from the beginning. Again the prosecutor will present the demands and explains of our lawsuit. Then the defendant party will explain its position. The State Committee on Ethnic Relations must take part in the hearings. The Committee is able to speak and give explanations on the Crimean Tatars and other nationalities problems. For this reason the Court want to give a hearing to the Committee,” said Poklonskaya

Poklonskaya filed the lawsuit on the Mejlis clampdown in the Supreme Court of Crimea on February15.
