Court hearing to ban the Mejlis in Crimea deferred for a week

The Supreme Court of Crimea deferred the next session of hearings in the legal action launched by the Crimean Prosecutor Office (attempting to ban the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people) to March 10.

On March 3, the Court began hearings on the lawsuit of the Prosecutor of Crimea Natalia Poklonskaya to ban the Mejlis.

Poklonskaya applied to the Court to disallow the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people and to recognize it as an extremist organization.

Lawyer Cemil Temishev asked the Court 10 days to put up to the case papers. Poklonskaya stated that the defendant dragged out the trial. Nevertheless, the Court complied with request by to defer the hearing for a week.
