Court has given permission for the Russian Black Sea Fleet Commander detention

The Main Military Prosecutor’s Office of Ukraine has given notice of formal charges filed against the Commander of the Black Sea Fleet of Russia Alexander Vitko on suspicion of committing a number of grave crimes against Ukraine. He was served a summons to the investigator on April 25.

The press service of the Office reported about its petition to the Court on the commander detention, because he did not arrive to the investigator within the specified period.

The Pechersky District Court of Kyiv has completely satisfied the petition of the Prosecutor and gave permission to detain Vitko.

It is also noted that Vitko flees from justice and is put on the wanted list. The National Police Criminal Investigation Department is responsible for the crime detection procedures.
