The Russian Prosecutor General’s Office acknowledged that police officers had illegally searched the premises of the trade union organization of the “Crimean ports” enterprise. The responsibles are promised to be put to justice.

It is reported by the press-service of the Confederation of labour of Russia, with reference to a letter from the Prosecutor General’s Office.

The seizure of documents of the trade union organization of the “Crimean ports” enterprise was held on May 26, 2016. In their address to the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation the employees of the Union pointed out that, according to the law “On Police”, the documents could not be demanded without a criminal case, as well as under the law “On Trade Unions”, they reported to the enterprise staff only and any meddling in their concerns by both the State and the local authorities was prohibited.

The investigation of the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation confirmed that the requests of the transport police department of Kerch on the documents and the decision of the police officer on the discovery of documents of the Union were baseless.

The “Crimean ports” State Enterprise was created by combining the assets of commercial sea ports in Crimea after the Russian annexation of the peninsula and the nationalization of the State property of Ukraine.
