A Crimean Tatar volunteer is detained on the border of Crimea

The Press Service of the Border Department of the Federal Security Service (FSB) of Russia in Crimea reports on the detention of Ukraine citizen Seit-Ibrahim Zajtullaev by Russian border guards on the administrative border with the annexed Crimea.

“Citizen of Ukraine Zajtullaev Seit-Ibrahim, born in 1997, has been detained by the FSB’s Border Officers when trying to bypass a checkpoint on the border,” said the statement.

According to the FSB, Zajtullaev had been a member of the Crimean Tatar battalion named after Noman Çelebicihan for more than a year.

The detainee is accused of “illegal crossing of the State border of the Russian Federation”.
